George Wolfson, Owner
George has spent almost all of his adult life in the retail alcoholic beverage business. He co-owned two other Shop Rite Liquor stores for a number of years with Gordon Embley. Mr. Embley was one of the pioneers of the fine wine movement in the state of New Jersey. Now down to one store, George’s work here is mostly administrative. Keith Johnson, General Store Manager
Keith held several jobs in sports marketing and promotion after graduating from college. He then started part time here & in 1999 turned into a full time endeavor. Keith is responsible for everything that goes on between the four walls, and now with the launch of our new website, he is responsible for that also. Keith has embraced the world of wine in a big way and has become very knowledgeable in all aspects of selling the fruit of the vine. If you have the time he will educate you and talk about all the wine we have to sell. Keith tastes all wine before he purchases it for us and he chairs our wine tasting panel. Keith has traveled to different wine regions around the world and is an expert on the wines of Argentina and the wines of Italy. Robert Katona, Assistant Store Manager - Beer
Rob buys all our beer and is responsible for the vast selection of microbrews in our store. He has been with us since 1990. If you have any questions about “Brew” shoot him an email. rob@shopriteliquors.comrob@shopriteliquors.com. Rob is also a member of our wine tasting panel and has a very sophisticated palate. He participates in many of our purchasing decisions in all departments.

Richard Hughes, Assistant Store Manager - Tobacco

Yup, you got it right, if it isn’t Wine, Beer, or Tobacco, it’s probably in Rick’s domain. Rick is the guy who makes those great gift baskets you see on our website. He conducts our in-store samplings on Fridays & Saturdays. He is chief receiver at our loading dock, along with handling most of our in-store point of sale. He is also responsible for all our local deliveries. Rick has an affinity for wine from those “other countries”. He knows a lot about the wines of Germany, Australia, New Zealand, etc. His palate is admired by the other members of the tasting panel and he has quite a following of customers who will buy their wine “only if Rick suggests it”. rick@shopriteliquors.comrick@shopriteliquors.com.
