”The Glenlivet 15 Year Old distinctively rich character is the result of a selective maturation process, as a proportion of the spirit is matured in French oak casks.
The Glenlivet was one of the first distilleries to use French Oak in the whisky making process, a technique that has since been imitated by many others. Limousin Oak, which is cut in the Dordogne region of France, is often used to mature fine wines and cognacs. Its low density allows the spirit to penetrate deep into the wood, and we carefully control how long the whisky matures in the casks so as not to overpower the desired result: a unique, pleasing spiciness.”

The Glenlivet has been distilled for pleasure since 1824. Our founder, George Smith, believed whisky as the ultimate pleasure should be made unhurried, as time and care created the highest quality and flavoursome product. George’s innovative thinking, technique and the best ingredients created a whisky that set the standard for the region of Speyside. |
Ultimate Beverage Challenge 93 points - The delicate touch of peat smoke is followed by aromas of sandalwood, hot clay, and vanilla. The smoke becomes more apparent on the palate and is nicely balanced by flavors of sweet nectarine, wild herbs, and baking spices.

Wine Enthusiast 91 points - Don’t dilute this light, gentle Scotch too much. Enjoy the honeyed, fresh tropical fruit aromas and mouthwatering vanilla and almond flavors with a hint of smoke and spice on the finish. Light body. Good value.
