The vibrant and fresh aroma of Absolut Citron showcases a straightforward and well-balanced lemon flavored vodka. Complimentary citrus notes of juicy lemon and a hint of tangy lime brighten the palate.

Clear. Medium-bodied. Lemon, salt, minerals. Compact texture. Dry and zesty mouthfeel. Displays a curious sweet/tart interplay of lively citrus. Develops a interesting salty tang in the finish. |

In 1879, Lars Olsson Smith introduced the continuous distillation with which he made Absolut Rent Brannvin. Instead of the usual three or four times, the vodka was distilled an infinite number of times. 100 years later, it was reintroduced as Absolut. Just as then, Absolut is produced in Åhus, L.O. Smith’s birth town. Also the place where the wheat used for making the vodka is grown. And since the way Absolut is made won’t change, neither will the true taste of vodka. |
Wine Enthusiast 90 points - Citron’s bouquet sings with fresh, vibrant, lemon zest right from the opening bell; the prototypical citrus-flavored vodka bouquet. Palate entry is so clean and effortless that you just want to consume more immediately; at midpalate, there’s a rush of lemon zest and oil. The distillers reached the ideal degree of flavor balance, without submerging the vodka presence. - Paul (6/1/2004) - 90-95: Superb/Highly Recommended (Jun 2004)
